The foam is around 2 inches thick, 10 inches high, and about 20 inches wide. The shield has an arm at the bottom where you can attach your own microphone. The stand is adjustable on the higher end and has a mud section. The shield can be used on a desk separately from the stand. A wide tripod base would be best for the mic stand. It is also easy to set up and adjust. It can hold a Neat King Bee microphone and will work with an MXL 770. This product had some sound dampening but is definitely an entry-level product, perfect for beginners. It comes with a warranty, and the product is excellent quality for its price.
