Kreg Jig Accessories DB210 Editorial Review
The Kreg Foreman is a must-have for making pocket holes for multiple projects. It drills 15-degree pockets holes in thicknesses from 1/2” to 1 1/2”. It is not compatible with plug cutting bits but can use Micro and Heavy-Duty drill bits. The machine allows for micro-pocket drilling with the purchase of a micro drill guide with bit. The product is 14 3/4" tall when the handle is locked down for storage. The Kreg Foreman drills one hole at a time, so there is no need to unclamp, move, and re-clamp a standard two-hole jig. The design and build quality of the Kreg Foreman is the two biggest issues - the drill depth adjustment doesn't stay fixed, and the precision is sloppy. The plastic knob that is used to lock the position at the back of the machine is hard to get tight enough. The fence is hard to get adjusted precisely and won't stay in place, and the small stops that pop out are challenging to adjust. The catch that holds the workpiece down gets stuck and can knock the machine out of adjustment, and the machine doesn't come with an adaptor to connect to the shop vac or other dust collection systems. The Kreg Foreman is reasonably fast and easy to use but comes at a high price tag.
