He rides his bike through dark streets, writes until dawn, loses himself in old films and music, and reaches for intimacy wherever it appears-often without knowing how to hold on to it.His relationships leave a trail of tenderness and damage: Mia, whose love he cannot meet with the faithfulness it deserves; old friends who draw him back toward the lives he abandoned; and Niobe, a woman whose voice and presence seem to offer the possibility of redemption. Yet Bishop's restless self-destruction follows him everywhere. As drink, drugs, memory, guilt, and ambition begin to blur together, the story shifts into a haunting, uncertain future in which fame has arrived-but peace has not.Raw, lyrical, and unflinching, this is a novel about desire and betrayal, friendship and disappearance, the intoxicating promise of escape, and the cost of refusing to be loved. It follows a man trying to write himself into meaning while repeatedly running from the people-and the version of himself-he most needs to face.
