The seca 700 is a mechanical balance beam scale that provides accurate weight and height measurements. It comes pre-calibrated, but users should be aware that the metal bar connecting the pad and upper portion should be straight for accurate readings. The overall measurements of the scale are 20.5" x 20.5" x 61.3", while the platform dimensions are 13.6" x 13.2" x 3.1". The seca 700 is made in China and designed in Germany. Users have no mention of a carrying case, but it has built-in wheels to move it around the office/home easily. The numbering system on height rod is off by 1.5 inches, so it is best to measure from the surface of the scale base to the surface of the headpiece for accuracy. There is a hex screw at the back of the counterweight box to move the counterweight in a very incremental way for calibration, and a tiny set screw can sometimes strip easily when fitting the headpiece to the top tube.
